In this teaching, John explores the transformative power of grace, authenticity, and the beauty of being truly known within a community. Discover how letting go of our masks and allowing others to bear our burdens can lead to a deeper healthy relationship with Jesus and others.

Talk it Over:

1. John mentioned that we often hide because we aren’t convinced others will love us if they know the "truth" about us. Why do you think it feels safer to be "hidden and tidy" rather than "known and messy" within a church community?

2. The sermon highlighted that sin grows in hiddenness but loses its power when we bring it into the light of a safe community. Have you ever experienced the relief or freedom that comes from sharing a burden or a struggle with a trusted friend?

3. John said, "I want to earn your trust so I can protect your heart." As a small group or community, what are some practical ways we can earn each other’s trust and create a "safe enough place" for people to come out of hiding?

4. We often see our limitations as weaknesses to be fixed, but John suggested God gives us limitations specifically so that we can be loved by others. How does changing your perspective on your limitations—from "problems to fix" to "opportunities to be loved"—change how you interact with others?

5. Looking at Galatians 6:2 ("Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ"), what does it look like practically to "get up under and lift" someone else's burden this week?
